Topaz Posted September 23, 2012 Author Report Posted September 23, 2012 I like to hear more on a stand alone bill for the pensions and if you agree a public committee be created to deal with MP's and Senators wages and benefits? Quote
scribblet Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) Actually, it's my understanding that any major changes to pensions has to go through a special committee, the gov't can't change them on their own. In fact there was a committee formed, but it's not the financial committee I'm thinking of, it maybe the standing committee of Finance. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/canada/conservative-caucus-takes-the-wheel-on-sensitive-topic-of-mp-pensions-170241226.html Edited September 23, 2012 by scribblet Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province

I think the committee you are talking about is the secret Parliamentary committee, which is always kept very secret what they talk about, ALL of them. The last time they got a pay raise was when Harper came to the PMO and two weeks later, within 24 hours all MP's had their increases, which like someone said,it IS a conflict of interest. Quote
