The_Squid Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Here is a prime example of why the BC Liberals are going to lose the election and Christy Clark is an utter failure as Premier. http://www.theprovince.com/news/government+broke+raises+except+when/6896831/story.html Ferry ridership may have plunged to a 21-year low, but B.C. Ferries executives still bagged huge bonuses this year. Former CEO David Hahn once again pocketed over $1 million. And his replacement, Mike Corrigan, is no slouch himself, raking in over $900,000.--------------------------- Kicking developmentally disabled people out of group homes to save money was bad enough. Handing managers big salary bonuses for doing it was even worse. That’s why the government stepped in and “cancelled” the bonuses — only to admit last month the bonuses will still flow this fiscal year, and will then roll over into managers’ base pay. ---------------------------- While the government turns its pockets inside-out to show how dirt poor they are, never let it be said they’re miserly when it comes to rewarding good work. Consider the government’s political staff at the legislature, the personal aides assigned to cabinet ministers, invariably die-hard Liberal campaigners away from the office. Forget the “net-zero” wage freeze for regular civil servants. Nearly half of these ministerial power players bagged raises last year averaging 10 per cent. The government’s explanation? The raises were approved after individual performance reviews. They are lining the pockets of their political appointees, but crying poor and decrying unions over their "outrageous demands". It has taken a long time for BC'ers to finally realize the extent of the lies and deceit from this government. I will be looking forward to the new government investigating the BC Rail scandal with the change in government. The latest poll shows the Liberals and Conservatives will be fighting it out for opposition status. Quote
Shady Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Raises should be tied to the strength of the economy. In other words, they shouldn't be getting raises right now anyways. Not until the people in the private sector, that pay their salaries start to see raises of their own. Quote

Squid, didn't you tell me that BC has been doing just fine fiscally? That there is no need for any pipeline money?
