It is 500 million dollars is what it is. That is half a billion. Not small potatoes at all. It would be a whole lot less if we got rid of the Senate yes men that get paid to rubber stamp budgets.

Parliament Hill is not run by the government. It's run by an all-party committee. Further, the AG audited not merely contracts let by the House and Senate but by individual MPs and senators. They all get budgets and they spend them as they see fit under loose, poorly policed rules.

“It is difficult for the Administration [of the Senate] to clearly conclude that expenses are appropriate,” the report said. “Senators operate on the honour principle, with their signatures attesting that the expenditures have been incurred in carrying out the performance of parliamentary functions.”

Many of the problems were simply paperwork issues, like not being properly signed or in a timely fashion, or not having certain documents attached. And

On the whole, we found no major weaknesses in the administrations of the Senate or the House of Commons,” Mr. Ferguson said.

So what is your issue?

I recall predicting that the conservatives would be regretting the MAJORITY government they were handed.

Keep in mind that the MAJORITY of the members of BOTH houses are conservatives.

No more hiding behind a minority government, maybe the conservatives can't handle it???
