Canuckistani Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 If i lost my job or fell in a hard spot.. I would have NO BONES about visiting my local food-bank.. None in the least.. Would you rather tax me even more when im out of a job and trying to feed my child? If you're out of a job, you're not paying tax on the income you're not earning, are you? Quote
Fletch 27 Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 You solved this all by yourself! Bad crack head parents? Take the kids away.. Its for the best Parents are having trouble feeding the kids? Go to a food back... Whats next? Massages and pedicures for the oh-so sore little feeties?? Fund that too? Tether-ball is a BITCH on feet.. Lets fund that with tax-payers dollars too Food banks are way overstretched. And, if the parents are not functioning well, how does a food bank help a kid at school? Schools should have free breakfast and lunch programs serving nutritious food to anybody that wants it. If the kids with money want to go to McD's instead, up to them. Quote

Do you know anything about the system or just spouting stuff? Food bank - as I said, how does that help a kid that isn't getting food cooked at home? Quote
Guest Peeves Posted May 27, 2012 Report Posted May 27, 2012 I think food and education, and bingo and weed should be free. If I don't get them I'm going to put on a mask and stamp my feet. Quote

jacee Posted May 30, 2012 Author Report Posted May 30, 2012 Well, the LOGICAL thing would be to remove them from that environment you painted! Oxy-Mom and heroin dad? Do you HONESTLY think that a full belly would help?? Sure, nice jesture, he will be happy about the banana when daddy beats him or shakes him down for his ipod.. Take the kids away and off of a funded food program and hand them to a loving couple who would appreciate and take care of the child.. In your dreams! And yes, food helps kids stay in school and have a chance at making a life for themselves. You got a problem with that? Quote
Fletch 27 Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Not at all jacee... I just really hope that they can eat well with a broken arm suffered by thier mommies tirades over missing oxycodin or a fix that went wrong. Yes, let's make sure food is the priority. Your priorities are in the right place. Did you hear about the guy that chewed the face off of the other guy? Was that hunger or "something else"? Duh In your dreams! And yes, food helps kids stay in school and have a chance at making a life for themselves. You got a problem with that? Quote

jacee Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 Not at all jacee... Good. Your responses show you don't know much about the issues of poverty and hunger in Canada, but at least you agree that it's ok to feed hungry kids at school via a charity program. Whew! Quote
bleeding heart Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 Let me be the first to say, Thank you for moving to Edmonton. That's not too compassionate towards the good people of Edmonton..... Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver." --Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007

bleeding heart Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 I do feel bad for my friends there, but...they can hack it. True...the Albertans survived the threat of Wildrose, so there's room for optimism. Quote “There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington.
