Fletch 27 Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Ok, I'm a Tory supporter but allowing this Chinese company into Canada and servicing as a cell phone provider/carrier NEEDS to be stopped.. This company has stolen sooo much IP (intellectual property) from Nortel, Alcatel, Cisco, Rim and MANY more.... The LTE protocol prior to Nortels buldge was in their hands and I have 2 years of proof to this (Its now in LG's hands after buying it 2 years prior to openening it) I worked with well over 30 chinese gentlemen and women through the NRC (national research council of Canada) and they ALL took folders of paper (filed patents) and IP to Huawei China after 3 years service.. (They all quit the same week ((within 3 days)) and signed with Huawei (same day) and left on the same plane).. This Chinese company operates the same way around the world and the US and Australia has closed the door to them.. We should as well. How do you feel about a Chinese company holding your data (text, voice and email) given the recent security breaks at both the NRC, provincial servers and federal infrastructure? Quote
guyser Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 How do you feel about a Chinese company holding your data (text, voice and email) given the recent security breaks at both the NRC, provincial servers and federal infrastructure? This particular company now surrounds me on three sides at work. Not a problem for me or us, but I have heard they are not as pleasant as one would hope. Quote

Fletch 27 Posted May 17, 2012 Author Report Posted May 17, 2012 When one goes selling ones wares (oil) one usually give something back in return, guess what Harper gave up? Canada currently sells No oil to China.. There is chinese investment in Oil-sands and ontario green-energy... Fine with that but opening up Canada to Huawei, a chinese extension of our equivalent of the NRC and CSIS is just out of bounds.. Again, do you want them holding your data in "the cloud"? Quote
Evening Star Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 Why is the government so eager to let Huawei into our market? Quote
Jack Weber Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 Why is the government so eager to let Huawei into our market? I suspect it might be some sort of bizarre quid pro quo where we've been "allowed" access to the Chinese market with respect to our natural resources, and in turn, they get access to all sorts of electronic data through IT networks... Pretty scary stuff,actually...But not unexpected. As democracy around the world fades as the US fades,Authoritarian Capitalism (see Modern Fascism) seems to be the political form that is going to replace it.Therefore,it is very important to "kiss the ring" of the global overlords...Harper's selling out of this country in this fashion is keeping in line with that sentiment...
