punked
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie pretends $1.57 billion in corporate tax breaks is a jobs program......The companies have promised to add 2,364 jobs, or $387,537 in tax credits per job, over the next decade......New Jersey has recovered only 20 percent, or 51,500, of the 261,000 jobs lost during the recession, compared with 80 percent in New York City. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/05/nyregion/christie-gives-new-jersey-firms-tax-breaks-for-short-moves.html?_r=2&pagewanted=all?src=tp
Shady
I think you're the last person that should be criticizing the job of the current New Jersey governor. Weren't you a big Jon Corzine supporter? The former governor that bankrupted the state, and then decided to bankrupt some more with his MF Global scam? Has he found the lost money yet? Weren't you a big Jon Corzine supporter? The former governor that bankrupted the state, and then decided to bankrupt some more with his MF Global scam? Has he found the lost money yet? And to think if Christie never won Shady that would have never happened....AM I RIGHT? So what about this tax cut stimulus that created a job for ever 400,000 dollars the government gave up? Seems like that program costs even more then Obama's. Where is your outrage? What happened? Edited April 7, 2012 by punked
Shady
And to think if Christie never won Shady that would have never happened....AM I RIGHT? What would have never happened? Jon Corzine bankrupting the state, or his MF Global scam? So what about this tax cut stimulus that created a job for ever 400,000 dollars the government gave up? Because what you're referring to isn't a stimulus program. New Jersey is, or actually was, the highest taxed state in the country. Businesses were leaving the state. Christie simply made taxes in New Jersey much more competetive. That helps with job creation, but it also helps keep existing businesses stay in the state, and attract new ones from outside New Jersey. Your dollars per job doesn't make any sense. punked
What would have never happened? Jon Corzine bankrupting the state, or his MF Global scam? MF Global Christie is doing a fine job of Bankrupting the state and picking up where Corzine left off. Heck the debt grew 3% last year which is just a little more it grew under the Dems. Because what you're referring to isn't a stimulus program. New Jersey is, or actually was, the highest taxed state in the country. Businesses were leaving the state. Yet they cut taxes and gained no jobs back while NY had a tax raise and saw almost all their jobs return. Hmmmmm. As for it not being a stimulus program I am not sure why Christie would call it a "Jobs program" if he expected no jobs Shady.
Shady
MF Global Christie is doing a fine job of Bankrupting the state and picking up where Corzine left off. Actually, he's doing much better. The state government is actually spending LESS money for a change, and they've closed the massive budget deficit Corzine had left. Yet they cut taxes and gained no jobs back while NY had a tax raise and saw almost all their jobs return. Hmmmmm. Like I said, New Jersey is the highest taxed state in the country. Even with NY's new taxes, they're still not taxed as high as in New Jersey. Christie is just trying to make the state more competitive. Unless you think that just because a state has the highest taxes in the country, it always has to stay that way.
punked
Actually, he's doing much better. The state government is actually spending LESS money for a change, and they've closed the massive budget deficit Corzine had left. But also taking in less money so the debt is growing at the same rate. Who cares if they spend less but end up adding the same amount onto the debt? All that does is hurt GDP numbers and recovery. That is a bad thing Shady. Like I said, New Jersey is the highest taxed state in the country. Even with NY's new taxes, they're still not taxed as high as in New Jersey. Christie is just trying to make the state more competitive. Unless you think that just because a state has the highest taxes in the country, it always has to stay that way. New York is the highest taxed state Shady NJ has the highest incomes tax there is a difference. I would also point out that highest taxed state has recovered most of their jobs, has a growing economy and is adding less to their debt then NJ is. Facts ouch. Again huge tax cut creates no jobs is what that article says so your argument is dead wrong.
Shady
But also taking in less money Actually, income into the state treasury has gone up. Your buddy Jon Corzine left the state in a pretty bad mess. Really high taxes, along with a really huge deficit. Christie's just trying to clean up the mess your guy left behind. Yes Shady Income went up costs went down and they added the same amount to the debt. Sure sounds like some good old conservative book cooking to me and it has be some crazy cooking because we all know Corzine was the best book cooker of them all.
