olpfan1 Posted March 1, 2012 Author Report Posted March 1, 2012 (edited) Once again, you show you have no clue! The reason for Vic's claim is that the tweets give him no opportunity to defend himself. That is the basis for all libel and slander laws. If I publish something bad about you in the newspaper I could be wrong but the damage to you is done and you'd have to live with it. With tweets it's exactly the same! Now I happen to agree with the tweet claims myself! I don't have a very high opinion of the man. However, that is irrelevant. The fact remains that his reputation has been tarnished with no chance for him to tell his side of the story. I realize that you will not agree with this. I'm sure that since you hate Tories and Vic in particular then you wouldn't waste a second thinking about what was fair or legal. It's legal .. the speaker of the house even said so, lol, am I supposed to feel sorry for that POS? I don't and I don't think many do ... this is the man that was minister of traditional family values was he not or something like it? He was the "poster boy" for traditional family values during the same sex marriage debates His reputation is only hurt because he's a POS, not because the public now knows what we should have known given the mans position If he can lie to his wife like that for years and years... whos to say he wouldn't lie to Canadians? Like Vic Toews has no chance to tell his side of the story. If he couldn't already call a full press conference any time he wants, he could have tweeted back. The problem is for Vic is that he has no moral or ethical defence for his actions that would wash with the public. The only reason he does not respond is that he knows his answers would only reveal more about his character, which wouldn't be good for Vic. Edited March 2, 2012 by Vendetta Quote
