I've heard it said that the royalty rate Alberta charges is among the lowest in the world. Do you know what the rate is for Bitumen vs crude? And what the royalty rate might be elsewhere, such as in Saudi Arabia or Venezuela?

In Alberta, as almost everywhere else in the world that do have crude oil assets, there are numerous rates. New wells get a royalty tax break for the first year. That way investments expenses are deducted upfront. A sliding scale is usually applies thereafter. The oil sands projects had literally decades of tax holidays , they are now paying out royalties at long last. Please keep in mind that royalties are not the taxes that companies pay during the tax year. That is another kettle of fish entirely. You need to be a genius bean counter to wade through this stuff, but the best info I have seen yet is the governments own data.Alberta Government - energy

In the past, the communist Chinese government was the most selfless government in the world that cares only about its people and the people all over the world and helps people in lots of poor countries like constructing railways for Africa countries.

Now I don't know what kind of government it is while it becomes more and more like western ones, but certainly much better than western ones because it still has a long way to go to become totally same as western ones, who cares most only the interest of party itself and need interest groups to support so that it like a corporation itself.

Does such kind of western government care about its people? If it is, why it create so many laws that rob money from the people and give it to large corporations like allow only large private banks to provide mortgage at zero cash reserve ratio.
