whatever the current government is doing is still light years better than the past liberal thugocracy or the possible NDP commie rule

I couldn't agree more because the last thing anyone would want is a federal surplus. Can you imagine??

Oh. The horror... :o

On second thought, with your lack of scruples perhaps I'm wrong. I guess common sense isn't so common in your case. You'd be ...the schmuck who during a violent protest runs up to the line of police officers and starts attacking them until they grow tired of it and put you down. Even the judge would be smiling up his sleeve while showing you no mercy.

Oh sweet, everyone gather around.

IT'S STORY TIME!

Sharkman, you've given us the preview. Can you share the story in more detail? It's obviously a work of fiction but, I'm having a hard time determining the inspiration behind it.

Ideology does not make good policy. Good policy comes from an analysis of options, comparison of options and selection of one option that works best in the current situation. This option is often a compromise between ideologies.

Perhaps we should keep a running list of the lies...

Bev Oda (budgetary allocations)

Tony Clement (staff census change recommendations)

Peter McKay (helicopter usage)

John Duncan (native housing situation)

Am I missing anything?

Someone should double-check with Stephen Harper to find out exactly what his definition of accountable and transparent means.

It was a shame that the deficit target was pushed back to 2013. What with the fact that Canada has 'the best economy in the world'.

Add another one on Peter McKay and Julian Fantino for lying about F-35 costs and the usefulness of the plane in the arctic.

And as I mentioned above, Jim Flaherty for misrepresenting our deficit target.

What did they lie about?

What did they lie about?

They said the project would be around $14 Billion, but it will actually be around $40 Billion. They also said that these planes will bolster our defense, but they can't even communicate with each other in the arctic.

Sounds like they handle their finances worse than a Reserve.

No, I'm the guy who stays out of the line of fire by watching the stupidity unfold on TV.

When a rational person figures out all that has been solved by the g2, Vancouver demonstrations & the "occupy" idiocy he comes up with ZERO. The public irrational public bitches about the cost of security on one hand & on the other hand say the police "should have controlled it". Here's to a long stay in jail for the rioters.

Which SciFi journal did you pick this up on?

As an former Airforce Pilot I can recall NO instance other than bad WX where our plane couldn't communicate with the othae planes & the ground--- The comm problem has since improved not deteriorated--- WX is no longer a comm problem & Satellite comm has removed the earth curvature problem. I have no doubt that some lefty rag has written items stating that there are problems but then, remember the "Sky is Falling" news pitch when PM Harper took control of the Govt? Our economy is (tho not as good as before because of the world economic situation) weathering the storm better than 99% of the world.

Have we signed the contract yet? You’re assuming the Conservatives are going to lie in the future?

Looking at the recent, real world contract signed by the Israelis, which involved a purchase 1/3rd the size of ours ($2.75 billion for 20 aircraft), the Canadian Government’s budgeting looks to align itself with actual fact ($9 billion for 65 aircraft)

The Jerusalem Post reported that defense chiefs do not believe that U.S plans to put back the F-35's initial operational deployment because of the development problems will affect the delivery of 20 of the jets Israel ordered in October 2010 under a $2.75 billion deal.

They will.......Where's the lie here?

As I stated here:

Indeed the JSF, like the Super Hornet and our current Hornets were upgraded with, is equipped with the Link 16 tactical data link package, which is today’s benchmark…….What the “perceived controversy” is over, is that, Link 22, which will complement Link 16 and enable a more secure and stealth form of communication, and more importantly, vastly improve the transfer of information, both in terms of rate and volume……It won’t be fully fielded until later this decade on the F-35 (and F-22 & B-2)….And as was just noted in the media, the last squadron of Hornets (425 TFS) won’t convert to CF-35s until the early 2020s……What do you want to bet, 425 squadron, will be fulfilling our NORAD NORPATS during this time…

The initial operational date for Link 22 has been known for over a decade……….And since the JSF won’t be in operational squadron service with us, until after Link 22 has been fielded, it’s not a problem………Again, the MND has never lied about any such thing………
