school year- what the hell is Brad Wall doing?

Recommended Posts

Why would he come out with an announcement during the election campaign that he will legislate the school year can't start till Labour Day ? It is a totally irrelevant move to the future of the province , but it's all we are hearing about now. The campaign has been quiet, with all polls predicting an easy Sask Party victory, so why does he make an announcement that can only give others something to shoot at? Come on Brad, talk about something meaningfull if you must say something. Otherwise just be quiet and cruise to victory, please.

The NDP did that in Manitoba when they first came to power, and I believe it was a plank in the 1999 election campaign.

People like it. Summer ends too soon when kids are back to school before the end of August. The teachers didn't seem to care. I think it just meant a slightly shorter Christmas break and actually covering some new learning in June.
