Vancouverite
Many people, including me, are upset at the Liberals for introducing the HST after they said they wouldn't do it, and they're not too happy with the sloppy response to the recent riots, so they may not want to vote for the governing party. OTOH, they also don't want to vote for the NDP, which had an even more disastrous run. So the only alternative, it seems, is the Conservative Party. The question then is if they can create a proper team so as to win the next election.
TimG
Many people, including me, are upset at the Liberals for introducing the HST after they said they wouldn't do it, and they're not too happy with the sloppy response to the recent riots, so they may not want to vote for the governing party. The problem is the majority of right wing voters are perfectly happy with the HST so it is not an issue the conservatives can ride to power. And the vancouver riots are a city of vancouver issue. The most the BC conservatives can do is split the vote and get the NDP elected. Newfoundlander
The Conservatives would do better if they had a sensible leader. BC should have never gotten rid of Gordon Campbell, some people don't realize how good they got it.
jbg
Two and one half mandates is plenty, especially provincially. Not everyone can be a William Bennett.

fellowtraveller
Not every province can be Manitoba, with the kind of governance that has given us an economic titan for all these decades.
