So some of the same things are happening in Israel as around the world. Now I am not going to get into the Palestinian issue here (as this video does deal with). The major point I want to bring here from this video is that there are huge protests against the government of Israel, by Israelis. And the protests are the same as protests we have seen happening around the world in the past year or so.

Lack of jobs, lack of housing, huge budgets on the Military. Social support fading. Higher education out of the price range of the average person. This is the kind of thing we have seen happening around the world. Why is that? Maybe finnaly some will come to the understanding of how our government leaders are collectively screwing over the average citizen.

We've seen protests and riots all over Europe, the Middle East. North Africa. All of them are about the same thing, lack of jobs, education, affordable housing. And in every conflict it is two sided but it is not a white vs black thing. It is the average citizen against the corrupt governments around the world.

I am sure there are other huge protests in other countries that are going through the same thing with the same problem. But I am having problems finding those cases.

In time, this stuff will hit our shores, you will see protests like this in the USA and Canada, if they are not already happening. If police states like the UK can't prevent the riots and violence, you think we here in NA are prepared for it?

A tipping point is coming, and it is happening globaly.

Common factors:
High unemployment
High debt loads of the average person (and of the nation)
Lack of high paying jobs
Price of higher education, getting higher.
General unhappyness with current governments continuing the status quo.
Cost of transportation going up
Cost of foo skyrocketing

All this is going on globaly. No matter where you go the problems are the same. Yet we fight with each other which prevents us from banding together to fight this corrupt system. The more you and I fight against each other, the more and more the government is able to get away with many things many of us do not approve of.

I don't know what else to say.

Why oh why do you watch Russian state media featuring leftist imbeciles like Gershon Baskin? Oh wait, I know why... because Russian state TV reinforces your obsession with conspiracies involving money that you "learn" about from Alex Jones about the Bilderburg Group....

So what do you think of the protests happening in Israel which seems to be like many other protests around the world we have seen over the past couple years?

I don't know what else to say.

I do.

SEPTEMBER 17, BAY ST (and Wall st, and globally)

ROCK THE TSX!!

Let's see how the money-shovelling rats like wading through our ranks to get to their slave jobs sucking the socks of the mega-rich sociopaths who manipulate us for money and sadistic pleasure. :)

Gost Hacked I have blasted you many a time on Middle East topics. I make no apologies for being a blaster. But I also don't only blast your face. I support it too. I blast and kiss equally. I know how to kick and kiss the same butt you know.

On this thread I respond because although I take a no nonsense position on Bud and Israel being able to defend itself I do not come on this forum to blindly ignore any topic that shows Israel has problems.

Of course it does.

Here is what I say in response to you. The political dissent you see in Israel is very real. Of course. Things are tough economically. Being under a constant state of seige drains its economy and its people.

The dissent is real but I will say this, you will not see Israelis being killed as they were in Egypt and Syria or lit on fire with rubber necklaces or disappearing from the streets late at night.

No political opponents will continue to speak loudly in the Knesset, on the streets, in the media, in the courts, through the hundreds of political, interest and human rights groups.

Israel will continue to struggle as it juggles issues with a wide range of Jews with different cultures, ethnic traditions, languages, religious beliefs, and views as to gender not to mention domestic politics.

Israel has always been an open bubbling constant debate of political views colliding with one another.

The best way I can describe Israelis is to say take a look at Italians pr Greeks or Jamaicans. What they all share in common is they are combustible people impossible to govern if I may make a tongue in cheek generalization.

You want calm, gentle, layed back people, you might have to go to

P.E.I. Then again when people on that island curl, they can get quite testy.

Rue, you can put all that aside, because it's not the point I am trying to make. As I stated in the OP, I don't want this to become another thread on the current Palestinian/Israel conflict.

There are many similarities to many other countries around the world going through some turmoil.

Lack of good paying jobs.

Lack of jobs period.

Higher cost of living.

Wages not matching that increased cost of living.

Perpetual debt.

Lack of affordable education.

We've seen protests in England, France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia ect ect ect .. and most are about these thing that I stated above. These problems are not restricted to geography, political ideals, religious ideals/beleifs, race, gender, colour of skin......... it all seems to come down to the citizens against the government.

Could someone please clarify to what extent these protests in Israel involve Arab-Israelis and/or Jewish citizens? Thanks.

Overall I think that is irrelevant to the point I am trying to make.

Israel has never been under siege, unless of course you radically redefine that word to mean something diferent than it does. And the occupation has actually helped its economy... without it, the ammount of fresh water available for drinking and growing food would be reduced by more than 1/2 and there would be a humanitarian crisis.

It shows how people around the world are coming to realize the same thing, and are fed up. People can tolerate and live with a certain amount of lies and corruption, as long as the bottom line is met. But it's when that line gets crossed that they get incensed, and finally want to do something. A wise leader knows when not to cross that line, and to throw them a bone once in a while. That's really all it takes. But today we are not as easily fooled, and that line is moving. People are smarter today perhaps than ever before, and it's partly because of the internet. It shows us how how our leaders manipulate the truth and constantly lie. They try to portray an image of providing fairness for the common person, but are in fact among the most corruptable there is.

We pay taxes to our governments, all the while continually losing social programs. Cities are crunbling. Health care systems provide less and less services. But big money, the peoples money, is going into military budgets. Those budgets are increasing, in fact. Yet we know we share a common bond with other people around the world who just want to live in peace and raise their families. It's normal for there to be competition in the demand for resources, we all compete for better living standards among ourselves, and even between countries. But people are realizing that there is no need for war in order to resolve these differences. And most importantly, people are fed up with the lies. They see the bailouts and the bonuses, and the perks all the while there is wage stagnation, and, inflation. The markets are manipulated to give advantage to the big stakeholders.

Yeah, Id be pretty nervous if I was a government right now. Its just a matter of time until this stuff spreads to places like Canada.

Most of these demonstrators and protestors in Tel Aviv are calling for more of the very same policies that have led to the current problems - government intervention in the form of more taxation on "the other", and more regulation via rent controls. What Israel needs to do is remove stupid banking regulations, for example the minimum 50% downpayment when purchasing a property (which essentially decimates the market while pretending to "protect" the banks). Remove red tape for construction and permit developers to buy and build more easily. And reduce taxes.
