BC Green Party says Wi-FI Smart Meters Send Danergous Wireless Signals

Recommended Posts

The city has been begging to get into my 125 year old building to install a couple of smart meters...I and the owner ignore them - Let them send a guy down into the dank old basement and read the meter the old fashioned way - with flash light and eye ball...It's cheaper - and probably safer - besides - why does everything have to be brought up to some new high tech standard?

What do you lovely folks think of this? Article here: http://abetterenergyplan.ca/#/news/smart_meter

The only reason we have "smart" garbage containers - that cost 2000 bucks a piece - and smart this and that and now smart meters is because the public is not smart enough to understand this is all about handing out very lucrative contracts to those that seem smarter than us...what the heck do you need an automated meter for - we have gone with ordinary meters and they work just fine....Who are the companies that secured the contracts to build these meters? Did they bid for them? Or are we as payers for power - expected to make some young upstart buisness guys millionares with out question?

“BC Hydro smart meters operate on a much lower power than an average cellphone,” he said.

“If you made a 30-minute cellphone call you would have to stand next to one of our smart meters for 20 years to get the same amount [of exposure].”

Vancouver Sun: http://www.vancouversun.com/health/Greens+want+smart+meter+program+stopped/5169491/story.html#ixzz1UUbwANJH

Inability to put the radio power of smart meters vs cell-phones in perspective (and who would stand next to a smart meter for any length of time anyway?) speaks volumes about the Green Party.

The announcement was a direct reversal of a position Sterk’s Green party took in the 2009 provincial election when its platform called for “smart metering [to be] fully implemented” by 2012.

Asked about the switch on Wednesday, Sterk appeared taken aback, acknowledging she was “surprised” by the 2009 policy, although she was party leader at the time.

And not being able to keep track of their own policy says volumes more. What a bunch of clowns.

What makes you think we are not? Stopped using cell phones years ago - but started again recently - I don't like them - they are like a dog collar around your neck...and as far as holding them to my head - I don't like the warm slow cooked feeling.

Those who actually believe that technology is total and absolute human progress are stupid - look how the hooligans communicate via - social media "Meet you at the corner and when a hundred of us gather we will loot the store and burn it" _ great - monkeys in trees with cell phones.
