Some time has passed and we have been able to consider and reflect on what the Prime Minister said.

How did you feel about it?

Ideology does not make good policy. Good policy comes from an analysis of options, comparison of options and selection of one option that works best in the current situation. This option is often a compromise between ideologies.

I'm a libertarian, from the US style definition, not the wingnut Canadian one displayed on their website. Economically right wing, social moderate, I think. The biggest bitch I have is his "tough on crime" stuff. Though it looks like what was in the speech was diluted from some of his earlier statements.

The government can't give anything to anyone without having first taken it from someone else.

Mostly positive, that's a good thing.

I really liked my local libertarian.

"We don't need laws, only guns!"

That's what I was talking about.

I have some issues with libertarianism, but y'all can't be grouped in with that group. You are principled, they are fanatics of a religious variety, whether they think so or not. There's a difference, I think, between libertarianism and anarcho-capitalism.

As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand.
