takeanumber Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 2/3, a SUPERMAJORITY, SAY NO!!!! To Harper and social conservatives! And now we have a government that will be held honest, in check, whithout radical change to the constitution or human rights. Quote
Hawk Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 um the Liberals are the big losers here: 1. They just lost almost 40 seats 2. Conservatives have almost 100 seats 3. The Fiberals are now in power with a minority government and are faced with the political mess they had setup to trap Harper The way I see it, we win, its not about this election its about next election. If the Liberals aren't careful you may be seeing a majority conservative government next election =) Quote The only thing more confusing than a blonde is a Liberal Check this out - http://www.republicofalberta.com/ - http://albertarepublicans.org/ "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." - John F. cgarrett Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 oh i don't think so hawk.... lets face the fact that the bloc is about as socially responsible as the ndp. i think what we will see is a lot of deals made to maintain things like health care and fair taxation... deals made between the liberals and the ndp or bloc. i think there is still alot of bad feelings about the hostile take over of the progressive conservatives by the reform party as well... that leaves harper to continue with his rants... and when bush goes down in the states next year then he's really going to be lonely. Slavik44 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 well if we want to be technically at this point in tiem the liberals have elected 135 people and the NDP 19, but the NDP are leading in 1, if the NDP do not win that 1 seat they will not hold the balance of power, lol. August1991 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Michael Moore made a movie, Columbine, presenting the premise that the "powers that be" control the masses through fear. Michael Moore and his premise are apparently right. But this seems to apply only in Ontario when the State uses the fear tactic. BTW, fear makes people, at least in Canada, want the State to protect them and choose policies advocated by Michael Moore. Quote
DAC Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Just to keep it straight, a majority of voters rejected every party. ~62% rejected Liberals ~70% rejected Conservatives ~83% rejected NDP ~97% rejected Green You can't really count this way with the parties that didn't run candidates everywhere, so I suppose the Bloc can claim it's the only party which elected members which was not rejected by a large majority of Canadians. Argus Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 The Majority has Spoken-So Suck It Up!!!--Harper Faces the Music-It's a Great Day For Canadian Family's It's not a great day for taxpayers. Expect big tax increases in the future, and no improvement in health care. Argus Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 oh i don't think so hawk....lets face the fact that the bloc is about as socially responsible as the ndp. How do you define "socially responsible"? If you mean big tax increases for ever bigger government to provide second rate social services, then I suppose this is indeed a day to celebrate.
