Tilter Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Yah I am not going to get into this argument but if you think Cuba murdered people by the truck load you are so far out there I can't even talk with you. After the Rev--Castro killed MANY innocents because they suspected that these responsible people would get him dumped into the ocean and he did it before he proclaimed Cuba a communist nation. It does work quite well the minimum wage (nonexistent) is about 32 cents an hour or so and even with that the only good employment in Cuba is in the government (graft) & the tourism industry which pays only tips. The current economy and living conditions are so good that they have to shoot people on the beach, innocent people who, like those in pre WW2 Germany who would risk their life to leave Cuba on a sinking raft or whatever flotation they can find that MIGHT just make it to the US. lukin Posted May 5, 2011 Author Report Posted May 5, 2011 No I think the best country in the world is Canada. I don't think Cuba even breaks the to 60 however to make a dumb statement like they murdered people by the truck loads mean you are going to get called on it. I don't think Canada should be anything like Cuba thanks for pointing out that Conservatives live in a fantasy land though. Unlike you, I can't think of one good thing about Cuba. It's a dictatorship, that for some reason, NDPers are in love with. Actually, here is what is said on the NDP Socialist website. Enjoy. This is basically the NDP attitude toward a vicious dictatorship, and a major violator of human rights. this is right up your alley , punked, and I am not surprised. Resolution for Cuba and Socialism WE STAND IN SOLIDARITY with the Cuban Revolution, and we defend it resolutely. U.S. IMPERIALISM continues to enforce its war-like economic embargo of the Island, which causes the entire people to suffer. The Cuban people themselves have chosen socialism. The blockade must be lifted immediately. CUBA'S SOCIALIZED ECONOMY, expansive social equity achievements, and collectivized services that ensure human needs are put first, represents a vastly superior alternative to rapacious global capitalism. FOR THIS REASON, the loss of the Cuban socialist project would constitute an historic defeat for working people. Our future in Canada is integrally connected to that of the working people of Cuba. WE BELIEVE THE BEST DEFENSE of the Cuban Revolution is the building of a movement for socialist transformation in the Canadian state. WE STRIVE FOR a Socialist Canada, which will join hands with Revolutionary Cuba to lead a Socialist Federation of the Americas. Quote

I read somewhere that a waiter in a Cuban tourist resort makes more in tips than the salary the state pays its doctors. I don't know if it's true but I'm inclined to believe it. punked Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Again I never said Cuba was good please don't change what I said. I think it is shitty country, however claiming that they killed people by the truck loads is a lie. That is what I am saying. Also claiming all Communists (ie. Woody Guthrie) are just like Nazis is dead wrong. Quote

The Socialist Caucus is 1% of the NDP membership. I don't go around claiming a huge percent of Conservatives are homophobic but it stands to reason some of them are. So what it is a very small percent just like Socialists in the NDP. The Socialist thing wont stick because we aren't in the 50s anymore. You keep fighting that fight though. Quote

punked Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Which party does the NDP Socialist Caucus support? I would guess the NDP but I am going out on a limb. Know who else supports the NDP? People from the middle class, people from Toronto, from Vancouver, Christians, and even capitalists. I don't see your point they make up 1% of the party on a good day. So? nittanylionstorm07 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Which party does the NDP Socialist Caucus support? Here we go again. Since some socialists support the NDP, the NDP must be filled with them and want to turn Canada into a Socialist country. Similarly, since there are Christian fascists who support the Tories, the Tories must want to turn Canada into a Christian fascist country. Quote
punked Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 They make up roughly 30%. Tell the truth already. I provided my source. Their Candidate got 1% of the vote from our WHOLE membership. You just pulled a number out your ass. Quote
lukin Posted May 5, 2011 Author Report Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) I see one of the new NDP MPs has been caught with a little monkey business. I'd like to hear her speak for herself. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/vacationing-ndp-candidate-accused-of-falsifying-nomination-papers/article2009898/ Quebecers vote for a person who was partying in Vegas instead of campaigning. Jesse Potter Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 especially the girl who speaks little French and was in Vegas during the election. Come on Jack, let 'em speak. Yes I'm also very intrigued about her accomplishment, when she was happy herself people voted for her??? Is this the same kind of tactic Harper is using? He does come across as being in love with himself... Quote

BubberMiley Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 1%? Are you kidding? the Socialist caucus is at least 30% of NDP membership. That is a fact punked. They are gaining power within the NDP. Those are the facts punked. Many NDPers have told me so.Anyone who believes your BS needs to wake up. That's your citation? "Many NDPers have told me so?" August1991 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 My understanding is she's a single mother and the only problem for her is she has to learn more french.Topaz, what does the fact that she's a single mother have to do with anything? He mentioned that the NDP supported the 'language rights' of Quebecers by supporting expanding Bill 101 into federally legislated areas. The irony of Mulcair's statement is that if Bill 101 were extended to constituency offices, then Brosseau's employees could possibly not be able to communicate with her.
