Taxes are paid by everyone with the exception of reserve property or property destined for a reserve.

Status Indians do pay education costs, the money comes from the band . They can pick the ones they want to pay education costs for, the rest, the majority, have to pay the cost themselves.

633 First Nations Across Canada. First Nations have only been considered human by law for less then 50 years under the Indian Act. To say that they have been raped of an economy from economic terrorist called resource companies selling off First Nations resources is pretty fair.
