The mentality has changed - we as kids had all sorts of guns - Never did we consider pointing it or shooting someone..It is pop culture that has trained the kids that guns are power. That would only be relevant if the Liberal party had then gone on to change its position regarding the registration of rifles and shotguns. It hasn't. Instead it's defended the registry and insisted it be kept alive. So the Liberals are continuing to wear the ridiculous farce which is long-gun registration. There needs to be tighter restrictions especially for those that are so consistently and emotionally volatile about the issue. Restrictions on gun ownership come from the acquisition of a firearms license. That is where we need to be ensuring those who have a gun are honest and sane. The registration basically attempts to duplicate that, with a horribly screwed up data base, at enormous expense.
