We need the registry to cut down on crime. Guns kill people.

I see no evidence the registry cuts down on crime...

It is an inverted moral calculus that tries to persuade the world to demonize one state that tries its civilized best to abide in a difficult time and place, and rides merrily by the examples and practices of dozens of states and leaderships that drop into brutality every day without a twinge of regret or a whisper of condemnation. - Rex Murphy

Chretien always talked out of the corner of his mouth - sometimes the good Lord gives us an identfying sign about what a person is about - kind of like a warning...Never trust a guy that talks out of the corner of his yap...any more that trusting a guy that only looks at your daughters boobs.

The mentality has changed - we as kids had all sorts of guns - Never did we consider pointing it or shooting someone..It is pop culture that has trained the kids that guns are power. Well back in the old days farmer Joe did get drunk and shoot his hen pecking wife..but that was rare.

Yeah but this is the *new* Liberal Party. Those things were all about Chretien and the Liberal Party got him replaced. Try and keep up.

That would only be relevant if the Liberal party had then gone on to change its position regarding the registration of rifles and shotguns. It hasn't. Instead it's defended the registry and insisted it be kept alive.

So the Liberals are continuing to wear the ridiculous farce which is long-gun registration.

No, I think some nutcases shouldn't own firearms. There needs to be tighter restrictions especially for those that are so consistently and emotionally volatile about the issue.

Restrictions on gun ownership come from the acquisition of a firearms license. That is where we need to be ensuring those who have a gun are honest and sane. The registration basically attempts to duplicate that, with a horribly screwed up data base, at enormous expense.

You missed my point.

You missed my point.

Then perhaps you should have done a better job making it.

Not at all. It wasn't meant for you, which is part of the point.

If you're posting publicly then it was meant for me. If you want to engage in private conversations you ought to PM the person you're talking with.

If you think that me posting something "publicly" is "meant" for you, then you're an idiot.

You see there? Now I am posting something "publicly" that is meant for you. See the difference now?

If you want to act like a moderator when clearly that role for you has been rejected, that is your right. But I would still tell you to piss off just the same.

You are babbling. In point of fact, you've been babbling inanely throughout this entire topic, like a smirking punk with a chip on his shoulder. I read through it with a sense of disappointment, and was hoping that at least someone might actually hold a defensible opinion they had put some small amount of thought into. Clearly that someone is not you.

This is a public forum, but you're always free to take your ball and go home.

You're lucky. As a leftie your name calling is tolerated.

There is no defensible opinion when you are dealing with Dustpan, Mr. Non-Sequitar.

My apologies for not providing you the debate you wished for. Some other time perhaps.

Never name called, your comprehension of English is bad. Go back and read.

That's not very moderate.

Chretien always talked out of the corner of his mouth

Were you writing ads for Jean Chretien?
  • Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
  • Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds.
  • Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location?
  • The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

Unfortunately, at this late date, no one has yet devised a better way to discuss a matter--any matter--with Saipan.

If Shwa is at fault, it's for deigning to bother trying at all...perhaps a fair critique, but one that applies broadly to most of us.

As scarce as truth is, the supply has always been in excess of the demand.

You're just destined to lose.

It's your 'density' :)
