William Ashley Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) Ok I just read this and was severely confused "Foreign Affairs was urging Canadians through its website not to try to make it to Tripoli’s overwhelmed airport:" Libya's internet is shut down. Why are they posting advisories to people who can't read them. Is there a reason for this, or is the government just being stupid. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/944741--canada-s-evacuation-plan-for-libya-hits-more-snags?bn=1 and then they wonder why no one showed up. Apparently only about 50 people are left that were registered wishing to leave. It is sort of funny though that Lawrence Cannon and The governor General are both in Rome.. and not a single Canadian is evacuated by foreign affairs endevours. Its best to be prepared.. I find this funny though -- the internet was put back up for 5 minutes while Mercenary prices were checked. its serious I know but you'd think that he wouldn't need to restore the entire country's internet for this purpose. http://www.dailyshame.co.uk/2011/02/satire/gadaffi-restores-libya-internet-access-to-check-comparethemercenary.com/ note this was "gaurdian.. my computer is so hackred. This is not the first time text has "changed" ... note I probably wouldn't of posted from daily shame.. as it was "gaurdian... I don't know where these text changes are coming from.. anyone else experiencing this text alternation? http://www.euronews.net/2011/02/25/libyan-rebellion-spreads-to-tripoli/ Edited February 25, 2011 by William Ashley Quote I was here.

William Ashley Posted February 25, 2011 Author Report Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) I also find this incredible ", there were no foreign correspondents from any international media reporting from inside the country" when violence broke out in Libya -- not a single foreign journalist??? that is awfully odd. US evacuated its embassy canada hasn't. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12585949 Edited February 25, 2011 by William Ashley Quote I was here.

Not really, Bush told everybody that Ghadaffi was an all right kinda guy, even took him off the terrorist list, so nothing worth covering in Libya... Amazing what a certain "class" of people will do for a little oil and money... Quote There are none so blind, deaf and dumb as those that fail to recognize, understand, and promote TRUTH...- GWiz

William Ashley Posted February 25, 2011 Author Report Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) I just thought it would be a far better option for them to have a HUGE banner attached to the back of the charter plane saying "WE ARE HERE TO PICK UP CANADIANS!!!" "BUT DON'T COME TO THE AIRPORT IF YOU ARN'T ALREADY THERE.. GO TO THE EMBASSY WITH FOOD AND WATER AND YOUR PASSPORT" But I'm geussing the government can't contact people in Amman in time. The prospect of a foregin invasion at this point is excptionally grim. At the very least Canada can determine if any negative sentiment exists for Canada - especially if sanctions are impossed -- while evaculation efforts are underway... really stupid call.
