Topaz Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 The Canadian Tire money is going to be a thing in the past and the Canadians Tire Corp. say goodbye. Its been with Canadians for a long time and I'm sure some will rush to cash them in or some may hang on to them for antique collecting. I remeber read anumber years back, that some Canadians had used it as legal tender in parts of the US and got away with it. Since it said Canadian, people thought it was legal tender. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/dailybrew/end-may-near-iconic-canadian-tire-money-20110210-080052-961.html Quote
guyser Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 No need to rush, you can still use it but no more being given out. That said, I found about $14 of it cleaning up last month. Id put it away.....and forgot so come on spring ! Quote
Moonlight Graham Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Wow its about time! I always thought that seemed like a huge waste of money for them. How many people have that stuff laying in the bottom of a drawer somewhere. It's not a great marketing idea. I;ll hold on to mine for nostalgia's sake but it will be worthless since there's so much of it laying around in everyone's house/car/basement/garbage bin.
