Esq Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) Tuition rates are up... here at this institution 6% for Canadians and 3% for international students. Residence rates are also set to increase by 3%. This is a trend that is going on. This with a dollar that is up to the USD. If tuition is $3000 for a term a 5% tuition rate works out to a $150 increase - this in turn gets passed on to the government that funds 80% of this money. etc... Tuition is still low compared to the US.. however you got to wonder why the rates are going up...? Are peoples disposable incomes going up? It seems difficult to stop such a trend with food costs housing costs and now education costs all on the rise... what is the student to do.. more loans? Edited February 4, 2011 by Esq Quote

Saipan Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Some professors, like for example Wendy Cukier, push for more waste, and some students actually vote for it. So tuitions should go up. Quote
