August1991 Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 In the French debate, PM PM was humiliated. Among the other three, IMV, Layton was the only person to respect PM PM. To his credit, PM PM did not seek a sympathy vote. IMHO, this situation is both his fault and Liberal members' fault. This election should never have been called. Quote
August1991 Posted June 15, 2004 Author Report Posted June 15, 2004 I happen to respect MapleSyrup. But when MS claims that Harper bombed in the French debate, I feel sad. PM PM died in the French debate. And Canada, in a way, died too. Partisan MS didn/t notice. Quote
playfullfellow Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 IMHO, this situation is both his fault and Liberal members' fault. This election should never have been called. Martins arrogance lead him call this election and he deserves the stress he is going through. During his leadership campaign, I actually liked what he had to say. I thought that he was a man to change some things and add to the democracy of this country. But he has proven time and again that he is no different than any of the other Liberal leaders we have had. Kiss butt, promise the world, get into to power and the do what ever the hell you feel like for the next 4-5 years. He is as much a dictator as Chretien was, Martin just tries to hide the fact that he is a dictator. He also figures that most Canadians are feeble minded sheep and he is the sheep herder. I hope he gets the boot so we can get a real look at what has been going on with the books and money of this country for the past 11 years. Debating wise, Martin is not as strong as either LAyton or Harper because he gets easily riled and then flies off the handle. He does a lot of finger pointing and expects answers right away but can not answer questions directed at him. Layton truly believes what he is speaking about, even though I do not agree with many of his policies, I have to admire him for that, he sticks to his beliefs. Harper also believes in his policies. He may be weaker when it comes to French debates but he isn't easy to get riled up. As for the comment made earlier in another thread about using written notes, well yeah, it does look better if you go from memory but with the schedule these guys have had, I am surprised they can even remember their own names. I am really looking forward to the English debate, I can at least keep up with that one Quote
idealisttotheend Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 And Canada, in a way, died too. Please explain what you mean by this August. But when MS claims that Harper bombed in the French debate, I feel sad. I got only the translation but Harper looked hesitant, unconvinced, hedging his position on social issues and only really confident on taxes where Martin and Layton did get on him well enough. August1991 Posted June 15, 2004 Author Report Posted June 15, 2004 There is some truth to the idea that the defeat of the Liberals, is the defeat of Canada. But I'm open to suggestions. Martin tergervisait. Layton was a pêteux de broue. Harper était un bloke. None could take on Duceppe and counter his nonsense. This is a Quebec problem. On va s'en occuper. Quote
BQSupporter Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Maple is a Liar who doesn't know if he suports the Liberals or the NDP. He as no political opinions or belief, just rethoric. Quote

August1991 Posted June 15, 2004 Author Report Posted June 15, 2004 I cannot believe that I expressed sympathy to the Liberal Party of Canada. Several hours after PM PM/s French debate, I retire my sympathy - for what it was worth. Quote
