scribblet Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 We watch Top Gear on BBC Canada which is pretty good most of the time and sometimes quite funny, but this time, they have created a religious storm. LOL There's a video on the page. Not sure if this is the right category either but - here goes. My favourite episode is when they went camping http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1342138/Top-Gear-stars-cause-religious-storm-dressing-burkas-Boxing-Day-special.html#ixzz19SW5hiEH Jeremy Clarkson and his Top Gear co-stars have sparked religious outrage after dressing up in burkas on the Boxing Day special.Clarkson and Richard Hammond decided to dress in niqabs, a form of the burka where everything but the eyes are covered, in order to disguise themselves on the road. They also got James May in on the act when they greeted him from hospital after he fell and hit his head on rocks in the Syrian desert. Scroll down for the video... Islamic extremist Anjem Choudary, said: 'The burka is a symbol of our religion and people should not make jokes about it in any way. 'It would have been equally bad even if they’d not been in a country mainly populated by Muslims.' On the Boxing Day episode of the show, the trio were driving across the Middle East to follow the path of the Three Wise Men. Topaz Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 It's not the first time they have done something that got them into trouble. It seems at time they must have missed out of their teen years. Did you see when they took one of their home-made cars to a car wash and the car wash ended up on fire after some of the part of the car got tackled in the roller brush which got stuck, which cause it to create the fire. So what so they do, they ran away like teens. Quote
scribblet Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 I didn't see that one, but did see the one where they rented a small trailer, eventually setting it on fire LOL Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
Bonam Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 It's not the first time they have done something that got them into trouble. And why should a video that happens to include a so-called "symbol of Islam" get anyone in trouble? Quote
scribblet Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 It shouldn't, but it's getting an adverse reaction from Muslims, so far no riots that I know of. Hopefully there won't be a backlash against the U.K. and more attempted bombings. Denmark and Sweden have just arrested 5 suspects in planned terror attack against a newspaper ( cartoons again) Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
The_Squid Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 Good for them. Can't wait to see the episode. They're hillarious and drive beautiful cars... and some not so beautful (Reliant Robin) Religous types of all persuasions are the most easily offended in society it seems... here is a suggestion: TURN THE CHANNEL!!!
