I really can't see how this guy is going to be able to do his job fully without quitting his other job first. His former job has too many walls for him to do his job. If he really wants this job than quit completely the other job and then wait a year before he returns to it. Why should he or anyone who wants to work in government make their own rules. he can't advisor the PM , if he can't go there because of a "wall" he can't cross. This job give anyone power to do whatever they want with information they are open to, in the future. Another question is, why is THIS guy the only one in Canada for the job??? Since its been said that Harper's wife advises him, why not give her and job and she can get paid for it, oh, yeah, conflict of interest , right? http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Politics/20101102/nigel-wright-ethical-wall-101102/

Who cares his job is to manage the staff (pmo) not cabinet.

The fact is that this beaurocracy is needed -- isn't that the Privy Council?

My gosh what a disgust to the canadian system watered down with expenses and political advisors oh the woes of the partisan system. They make your dollar into 50 cents and take a dollar before for what was already spent.

Now you need advisors to advisors, and advisors of advisors to advisors, and advisors to advisors to advisors of advisors.. and so on, who is doing the actual governance?

This is not an attack on the public service it is an attack on intelligence or lack there of depending on your disposition.

Just think what allowing anyone to lobby would do, they would be a shambles.

this is why I advocate for an free public advisory council system..
