My name is Dustin Haisler and I’m the Assistant City Manager and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the City of Manor, Texas. Manor is a small community, located just east of Austin, of approximately 6,500 citizens. More recently, Manor has received a lot press for some of our innovative projects; such as our QR-code program, citizen idea portal, and pothole reporting system. In fact, we are in such a state of continuous improvement that we even added the word ‘beta’ to our city logo.

In a world where technology is often touted as an easy solution, it's odd that technology is often ignored when it can't be implemented as an easy fix. As such, it's a relief to read about Manor, Texas - a place where people are actually attempting the difficult task of making people and technology work together to solve problems.

Hopefully, they will succeed and Manor, Texas will be a household name within a few years.

I just went there via google earth, and it seems like a nice small town but the only thing I didn't like was the subdivision, had homes not more than 3-4 feet apart, at least that what it looks like on screen.
