Huge win for the Spartans.I'm able to see all the good games as my satellite provider has an NCAA football package for $50. So tonight I'll be flipping back and forth between the Gators/Tide and Ducks/Cardinal. Also Penn State and Iowas should be a decent game. Also Va Tech came up big against NC State. Unfortunately for me I picked NC State as they were the underdog at home. As for Spurrier, it'll be interesting to see how they react after that tough loss to Auburn. Jack, here's a website that shows many college games. http://www.atdhe.net/ Edited October 2, 2010 by lukin Quote

And finally, how about LSU losing to a weak Tennessee team. College football; gotta love it. Jack, here's a website that shows many college games. http://www.atdhe.net/ I'm talking about ABC.. It sounds like the NorthEast is getting Notre Dame at BC.. And LSU beat Tennessee 16-14....Vols has too many men on the field on the last play and LSU got to replay the down...But Tennessee lost because of horrible coverage on a 4th and 12,not the last play of the game... The Gamecocks should have beat Auburn..They get a week off an 'Bama will be in the 3rd of a 3 week stretch that has them Playing at Arkansas,at home against Florida, and in Columbia against South Carolina. That's one hell of a stretch of games 3 weeks in a row... I jumped the gun on the Vols/Tigers score. The SEC is as tough as they come. Arkansas should have beaten Alabama. Quote
Shwa Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 Buckeyes fan here, with a close secondary interest in the Wolverines. Both won today. Hopefully when they meet November 27th it will be the Big Deal. Nice to see the Sooners knock off the Longhorns too. I dunno if anyone can beat Alabama though, they look way too strong. But the season is still young-ish so hopefully someone will be able to solve them. Quote

That should blow up the current BCS system. Quote
Shwa Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 I hope Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, Boise State, and Oklahoma or Nebraska go undfeated. That should blow up the current BCS system. But even if they did, then there would be the strength of schedule argument, the difficult path argument, the computer-says-so argument and finally, the fewest hangnails per team argument. With the amount of cash being generated with the current BCS system, I can't see anyone wanting to risk that even though the Papa John Bowl (now Birmingham Bowl) might not look as well attended on TV as Papa John wanted. One day I hope there is the 'Bitchin' Camaro Bowl.' However, I kind of like the current system, it's unique, plenty of schools are eligible for a meaningful final and the the top-ish two teams meet in the BCS final I can see playoffs for maybe the top 4, but I wouldn't want a 'March Madness' approach at all nor any superconferences created. I agree with you that a 4 team playoff would be the best. I like the fact that regular season college football games mean so much whether it's week 2 or week 11. The problem I have with the current BCS system is the conference tie ins. Like the Orange Bowl; Big East vs. ACC. The top 10 ranked teams at the end of the regular season should play for a BCS bowl. The Big east may not even have a ranked team, yet they get to play for the Orange Bowl. Had Nebraska beat Texas last year in the Big 12 Championship, we probably would have seen Cincinnati in the BCS championship. That would have been a disgraceful game. However I do think 16 team super conferences are on the horizon. Boise State, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A@M join the Pac 10. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Miami, Florida State join the SEC Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, Missouri, Kansas State join the Big 10 The ACC and Big East will join to get 16 teams. Then there will be a new conference formed from all the other schools. Quote
Jack Weber Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 You're forgetting one element to the Texas equation...TCU!!! I would contend that Texas Christian has been almost as successful as Boise State,as it relates to the BCS.I'm surprised they have'nt looked at going into either the SEC or the Big 12 because they could easily compete in either conference, especially the Big 12.Plus it would cool to see old Southwest Conference rival Arkansas going up against TCU again in the SEC!!!And don't think TCU could'nt compete with the likes of Kentucky,Vanderbilt,Mississippi State,Tennessee etc right now.... I agree that Boise should probably go into the PAC-10 if it really wants BCS credibility, however Utah would be a more likely choice to go with them than any of the Texas schools. All of the Texas schools would probably rather go East because of the potential TV money, than go West... As far as the 'Domers go,their basketball team plays in the Big East right now,and that's the real level of their football team.If they went into the Big 10 right now, they would be a mid-pack team like Purdue.Notre Dame simply is no longer a top line football program.... Jack Weber Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 (edited) Whoa!!! Possible huge changes in the BCS coming up!!! Alabama 3 South Carolina 21 Early 2nd quarter!!! Jack Weber Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 (edited) Final from Columbia... Alabama 21...South Carolina 35 Soutn Carolina defence had 7 sacks of Greg McElroy... Edited October 9, 2010 by Jack Weber Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
lukin Posted October 10, 2010 Author Report Posted October 10, 2010 As I speak, Arizona looks like they will lose, and Auburn is tied 31 with Kentucky. Oregon or Ohio State....who'll be #1? Quote
