Can a political or social movement suddenly go bad?

Recently I attended the "Free The Children" - "WE DAY"..............one of my adult children works for this movement. They stuck an honourary badge on my chest and sat me down in the nose bleeds at the Air Canada Centre. I looked down and say what I estimated as about 18 thousand kids...then the place filled up and there were over 20 thousand of them..It was quite remarkable that a couple of brothers who started Free The Children only 15 years ago went from one African kid..that they assisted to assembling about 40 thousand kids in two centres...all are "volunteers."

What was striking in the back of my paranoid and overly vigilgant mind was that they all seemed to be ONE - that the ME too WE plan worked perfectly..it was encouraging to see such power in numbers - but at the same time a tad frightening that the kids were so compliant on mass - and that these young people will be adults soon and might form a huge voting block, that will support a person that might some day run for public office....and if it is true that ultimate power corrupts totally - I feel a bit of apprehension - Something that is so positive and good can instantly go bad and become a force of evil rather than good.

Of course the two brothers that started this movement have good intentions but as they "free the children" - it seems that do accomplish their long term agenda..they have to capture a large group of children first..

Sherry Blair spoke - as did a few other motivational types - the music was sparce and the corporate sponsorship wanted their 3 minutes of pay back time..In my over view I could see a good thing . That if mismanaged and not monitored can abruptly turn to a bad thing ...if the saying is true that power is intoxicating and leads to horrific judgement and poor behaviour.

THIS is absolutely polically incorrect..might just get my dearest off spring fired..just don't tell her that dad knows she could be doing something better than "corporate donar relationships" - or what ever her title is..the poor thing can't even afford to rent a proper place to keep the dogs..and I am stuck with the hair growing machines..You would assume that a person who gathers up big bucks to "save the children" might warrant a little salvation also..But it appears that most of the staff at STC...are good looking anglo girls from privledged families who believe that saving the poor little black children makes a good hobby and is great optics for the resume`.

It does bother me a bit that millions of dollars are being gathered up and sent out of the nation to failed states..to "save the children". It might be more practical to save the parents first...but international do-gooder socialist types are not big on parents...also in passing there was a "child soldier" at the event... He describe how "I was forced to kill my best friend"..the delivery of this shocking line was done in a robotic manner with not a glimmer of remorse...Old Christian values that defeated the Nazi movement were based on ..."there is no greater love than a man laying down his life for a friend". Apparently this now adult child soldier did not want to set a good example and put a slug in his own head..THAT would have changed the minds of some of his supposed captors...But I guess killing his best friend ultimately go him to this nice and comfortable postion.

I am sure he was booked in a nice hotel with room service and offing his best friend payed off for this poverty stricken black African man.

Also there was one remard by that aging Irish radical woman ..where she basically instructed 20 thousand kids to tell their parents to F off..further undermining parental guidance and authority on what will eventually be on an international level.

I wish SAVE THE CHILDREN well - but this child needs some saving also..

AND what about the nearly 18 thousand child slaves that are in the greater GTA - kid snatched up by so-called child protection services that are infect employers of a huge bureacracy that though meaning well is insidious and parasitic in so far as living off the avails of child labour..It must be hard work for a 9 year old to endure foster care and medication because the real parents are stressed finacially to the point of breakage..save our children first, I say ...charity begins at home.

Suppose I am a cynic most days. I could not help but wonder how a couple of brothers with good intentions managed to gather 20 thousand mostly white anglo kids in one place..and get them to do these silly dances...it reminded my of a Nazi version of Sesame Street..Not that I think that kids helping kids can lead to a catostophic failure in human behaviour...the road to hell is almost always paved with good intentions...just reminded me of the new internationalist socialist movement..The kind that Trotsky would be proud of..It also looked like most of the ranks were filled with the children of the wealthy and privledged - who might be motivated by guilt under the guise of benevolent humanitarian service.
