Topaz Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 I watched some of the hearings and the three Tory ministers were sure pushing for this fighter, even the the maintenance cost is going to be huge! As far as Canadian companies getting some of the work, there's no guarantee that will happen and I heard Clements say that we have to take the planes to get the jobs here. I'm still with having a open bid and try to get the prices for these jets lowered. Another item were are we going to use this jets? In the North? Or has the Harper gov't have another location in mind but aren't telling. There also the software which the US has already said it their secret and no country will have knowledge to that. Who nows what the future holds, and one of these countries buying an US jets could be at war with the US and they can't get the software info.? All this buying will only keep Canada's debt into the RED but that the Conservative way isn't it? http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Politics/20100915/fighter-jet-committee-100915/ Quote
Oleg Bach Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 It is nice to have a few token war toys...not that the amount of fighters would do much good in an all out war..but like flowers - it's the thought that counts...besides - they look kind of neat - but like all high tech items - they will be obsolete by the time of delivery - As for Peter McKay - how smart can a man be that is stupid enough to sleep with that highschool drop out? I have no faith in McKay - He is a light weight who gets impressed by what he assumes is power and wealth...in other words he lacks real noble character and is quite common...these fighters will NOT - put us on the map as far as a military force in the world - BUT they will be good for harrassing the Russians and intruders from China from messing with our northern coast...AND if we ever have a conflict with our southern brothers...The very ugly Americans at least we could bloody their nose just before they destroy us utterly.
