capricorn Posted September 13, 2010 Author Report Posted September 13, 2010 Ian Davey is my friend, and I have tons of friends at the Sun.Ian was obviously – and I mean, front-page, 72-point font obviously – making a joke. He, and his remarkable Dad before him, have been long-time Sun readers. In fact, Red Leaf founder Keith Davey placed more advertising in the Sun, over the years, than practically any ad exec you can name. I know Ian well enough to know that he meant no offence. I also know a few Sun editorialists know that, too. The universe balances out, with the Sun at the centre of it. http://warrenkinsella.com/2010/09/sun-burst/ It was a joke? The Sun and their readership are humourlous? What else can the Liberal elites and their mouthpieces teach us about that knuckle dragging and uneducated demographic. If you consider reading the Sun to be an edifying activity, rather than the fluffiest of light entertainment, then the real joke is how very well the shoe fits! waldo Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 You know something? If you consider reading the Sun to be an edifying activity, rather than the fluffiest of light entertainment, then the real joke is how very well the shoe fits! whaaa! Although capricorn is just sooooooo perturbed by those she labels 'elitist'... she fails to clearly define her personal attachment to the Sun crapola. Perspective, damnit! We need perspective. Is capricorn simply being her partisan self, sowing the seeds of dissent... or is she truly standing up for, as Simple says, the 'nations plumbers'? Quote
capricorn Posted September 13, 2010 Author Report Posted September 13, 2010 whaaa! I've been meaning to ask you waldo. What does "whaaa!" mean or signify? You're the only poster who uses it here and I've never seen it appear in other forums. I'm not being facetious, I'm truly curious. Although capricorn is just sooooooo perturbed by those she labels 'elitist'... she fails to clearly define her personal attachment to the Sun crapola. Well, about six years ago my son was the Sunshine Boy in the Ottawa Sun. Does that count as personal attachment? Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Topaz Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 The only thing I thought wasn't "nice" that Davey said was when they were talking about the hockey team for Quebec. Davey said he wished he could have a NHL team for Toronto. I thought what? He must be really nervous to speak before thinking what he said. Quote
