And yes, Obama is in the process of alienating everyone who is not going to reflexively love him no matter what. (say, 25% or whatever.) The right wing is dead wrong to call him a "socialist," when he is a committed capitalist; but people are correct not to trust his word. Its their own damn fault. Americans fall for the most transparent kinds of ideological sloganeering, and then complain that government isnt honest. Well guess what? In a democracy you get the kind of government you DESERVE. Why WOULD any politician be honest with them? They know that 80% of them will just vote party lines ANYWAYS. Americans for whatever reason decided that culture wars were more important than honest, competent and transparent government. You reap what you sew. Quote I question things because I am human.
