Topaz Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 It seems the Tories want to help more seniors by letting them work longer. In the following article, and its also my view, they need the senior and babyboomers votes, so this is not just being kind to seniors, but I sure the group will welcome any kind of help. IF the senior has already a job then there no problem but if you are over a certain age or LOOK older than you are, most companies won't take you, unless, you are a greeter at Walmart. I can't seem why the government won't let seniors work and NOT pay taxes, if they are under a certain income like 50,000. No HST, no tax on CPP, etc. none! Of course that will never happen but its a thought to help out the seniors who really need extra money to live on. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/100712/national/seniors_tories Quote

Moonbox Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 I don't really see any problem with this. Let them work if they want to. Quote "A man is no more entitled to an opinion for which he cannot account than he is for a pint of beer for which he cannot pay" - Anonymous
bjre Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) They give this group a small amount this time and another group a small amount of favor another time. (like so small $100 a year children benefit makes no real different to most families. it is so easy to spent when you go to a grocery store for just one time) And then spent a billion on G20, and spent another billion on weapons. And then you and me need to pay tax for that. What they really need to do is to cut at least half of the government employees. abolish related regulations and laws that waste money and have no effect. and have only harmful to the freedom of people and economy.
