Mr.Canada Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) This man has great courage and fortitude to tell it like it is and to tell the truth. I hope he pushes for more arrests in Caledonia, the foreign occupation of Canadian land. I think I'm going to take a drive out there myself this weekend to see what I can dig up. I'll go spend some money to help the real locals and support their legitimate businesses. Popeye Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhaaahaaahaaaa! Ohhh breathe! Hahaaaahaa LOL LOL LOL!!!! Newsflash: Gary McHale did run for office. He lost. Why would you want Gary McHale to get the people in Caledonia arrested? What did they do? It doesn't take much courage to go into Caledonia because nothing is happening and it is a quiet town these days. The truth of the matter is that McHale had a variance to his conditions/restrictions. You do know what a variance is correct? There is difference between what is expected and what actually occured. He may enter parts of Caledonia. That is hardly something to trumpet or be proud of. charter.rights Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 I want to go and see what I can do. Self promoting again...I see. Popeye Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 I want to go and see what I can do. Knock yourself out. Just make sure that you let the people you speak with know that you are doing McHale's bidding. That should help you conserve quite a bit of time finding out what you can do and leave you more time to enjoy the river walkways, shops in the town core, the parks and fishing by the dam. MAW Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Hopefully the OPP will be on hand to ensure no trespassing happens on private property owned by the province (DCE), nor allowing county property to be used as a staging area when Merlyn Kinrade, and now Binbrook resident Gary McHale, hold their "Anti-Racism" parade through town. Mirrors for self-reflection are optional. Welcome to the twilight zone, Caledonia is, or will be when McHale arrives to give another speech, like the good-old-days. Quote
Popeye Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 I heard a lady in town explain McHale's welcome back this way: "We have a special place in Caledonia for Gary McHale. It's that little island in the middle of the Grand River. An island unto himself." Quote "Fortunately, I keep my feathers numbered for just such an emergency" ~ Foghorn Leghorn

Wild Bill Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 (edited) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhaaahaaahaaaa! Of course he lost! It would have been almost a miracle for an independent candidate to have won! What IS important is how well he did in the popular vote, and where! http://www.caledoniawakeupcall.com/election/ElectionResults.pdf http://joincanace.wordpress.com/2008/10/03/canace-executive-director-runs-in-haldimand-norfolk-riding/ "The 46-year-old civil rights advocate finished in fourth place with 4,821 votes, earning 10 per cent of the total votes cast in the riding. Conservative Diane Finley was re-elected with 19,657 votes while Liberal candidate Eric Hoskins earned 15,577 votes and NDP candidate Ian Nichols received 5,549 votes. “Obviously it’s disappointing, but at the same time more than 4,600 people at this point chose to vote for me and not for a party,” McHale told The Chronicle shortly after Finley’s re-election was announced around 11 p. m. on Tuesday. “As an independent it’s very hard to get anyone to vote for you. This also destroys the myth that somehow there are only 40 to 100 people who support me in Caledonia. Obviously there are thousands of people who want me to be a strong voice.” McHale's opponents have tried to portray him as someone with only a handful of supporters, mostly "bubbas" from out of town. Mchale's election results make that an obvious lie! For an independent to take a quarter as many votes as each of the two front runners is significant indeed. With nearly 5000 votes he showed that there are a LOT of upset people in Caledonia who appreciated his efforts! Again, his opponents would have us believe that despite the fact that the native protests negatively affected the townsfolk far more than any politicians, virtually all the townsfolk are blissfully happy with their protester neighbours and hold no bad feelings at all! The first link shows the breakdown by where the polls were. If the election had been ONLY for the immediate town of Caledonia and not Haldimand-Norfolk as a whole, McHale might have won! Certainly it would have been impossible to whitewash his results as irrelevant. H/N as a whole diluted the vote outside the town limits. You can argue about McHales ideals and differ with them all you want but to suggest that he was simply an irrelevant loser is mere propaganda that just makes the originator sound irrational and ignorant. If doing so was an attempt to make it look like the native protests have not severely damaged the historical relationship between SN and the townsfolk then the originator looks even more so. Mr.Canada Posted March 8, 2010 Author Report Posted March 8, 2010 He didn't motivate the electorate enough imo. Right before the vote would've been a good time to really stir up a hornets nest. Upset voters are very motivated to take action. McHale needed emotional votes and he didn't get all of them he could've. I wouldn't suggest he run for federally though, he should run municipally first then move from there. Just my opinion.
