maplesyrup Posted May 25, 2004 Author Report Posted May 25, 2004 Here is the link: Democracy Poll Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. Anatole France
maplesyrup Posted May 25, 2004 Author Report Posted May 25, 2004 9% difference between the Liberals and Conservatives, and only 8% difference amongst Conservatives and New Democrats. This is showing signs of a classic three-way race. Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. maplesyrup Posted May 25, 2004 Author Report Posted May 25, 2004 If the NDP's current percentage support translates into seats, it would give the Jack Layton New Democrats 65 seats. Not bad going into the election campaign with momentum. Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. Goldie Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Your assessment is wrong. In the ROC all voters, the numbers are; Libs.........35 Tory.........31 NDP..........21 So it is not much of a three way race in the ROC, espescially since a lagre number of voters are looking at the party and its platform and local candidates. The Conservatives are more trusted to run a clean government than are the Liberals or NDP. Conservative candidates are the results grassroots efforts over star power and patronage. The Conservatives could win this election with a majority very easily as everything is lined up perfectly. Quote
maplesyrup Posted May 25, 2004 Author Report Posted May 25, 2004 Actually all the polls are showing the Conservatives flatlined. With all the problems the Liberals have been encountering, if Stephen Harper had any pizaaz, the Conservatives would be way out in front by now. It is obvious he is not catching on with Canadians. Canadians will be looking to the Jack Layton New Democrats as the main opposition to the Liberals. The NDP is the one party with positive momentum, and I expect the NDP will be doing exceptionally well when the next series of polls are released. Goldie....you and others attacked me for supporting Belinda duriong the leadership campaign. If Belinda was leading the Conservatives right now, the Conservatives would have the lead. Instead the Cons are only 8% ahead of the NDP with the NDP closing in. Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. Goldie Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Well I don't think I attacked you but I certainly did not agree with you and still don't. Canadians are saying, "give us a reason to vote for you conservatives". They will find that when they look at Mr. Harper he is a capable leader. An economist, young family, middle of the road, sensible simple solutions to government. Nothing scary! Reason enough to vote for him. Non elitist, no flashy gimmicks, hockey dad type will ring loudly in most parts of Canada. They will demand better and vote Tory. Mr. Harper is already winning over some media and Canadians will follow shortly. I would like to say that I think it would be great if the NDP form the official opposition to the Tory government. The NDP has a platform that should be looked at first in opposition. Quote
Kliege Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Maple the NDP will never be the main opposition to either a Liberal or Tory government, they are non factors in so many areas of this country that it would be impossible for the NDP to either win a government or become the main opposition. So Stop the Pipe Dream and deal with reality. Quote
