The US has an edge?? Where? The chinese have no problem getting it up and populating their country. They have a deep history to draw upon. They are growing china's population 2.5 times that of the US. China is busy building up its infrasture on a massive scale the US has done what lately? Oh, right, ripped off world investors through fraudalent mortgage securities. Is that the best the US can do? So called us imperialism is defeated before you got started. The EU is signing on Countries and expanding, what is the US's growth strategy? does the US have one?

As for solutions for Canada, Canada should nurture stronger ties with the EU and more trade with China.

Chinese students come to the USA for undergraduate and graduate work.....I went to China in the late 90's to teach them basic manufacturing processes. It is still a developing country.

As opposed to Canada's no children immigrant growth plan. The US is naturally increasing its population unlike Canada.

That's a defeatest mentality and a cop out. What shortcomings? Canada is gripped by corrupt politicians who aspire to use Canada for their own vain ends. They do this all the while Canada slips further and further down the world ladder of prosperity. Canada is a corrupt country, so it has to rely on immigrants to sustain the undeserving.
