punked Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Ontario's Liberal government will open talks with nurses, teachers and civil servants on ways to eliminate the province's record $25 billion deficit, Premier Dalton McGuinty said Wednesday as he refused to rule out unpaid days off for public sector workers. http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianpress/article/ALeqM5hSdtl1XxbIWiXMR1Xce9qk4UHnlA Quote
M.Dancer Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 I have despaired of anything having any traction that would defeat the Liberals....after the recent St Pauls by election, which apparently was not a plebiscite over ehealth, HST or plain stupidity....I thought the damage done By John (I used to work for Rogers) Tory was deep and lasting. Now I'm not so sure. Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
capricorn Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 In true Teflon Dalton fashion, the Premier is softening up the bureaucracy and public service workers for a hard landing. That's what he does. He softens us up, then whacks us with the bad news. "You might argue that we in government have been sheltered from the ravages of the global recession. That's been a privileged position for us to occupy," he said, conceding public servants, including teachers, nurses and bureaucrats might not be pleased with the tack the government takes."People inherently want to do the right thing and sometimes the right thing is not the easy thing to do." http://www.thestar.com/news/ontario/mcguinty/article/721403---dalton-days-premier-likes-the-sound-of-that?bn=1 See? Dalton Days is the right thing to do. But just as he tried to disguise the health care tax as a health care premium, he'll call it something else. Equilibrium Days, Guilt Days, Payless Days.... Topaz Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 I had relatives that worked in Rae Days and they didn't appreciate them until Harris took over! Even the Federal Tories are pushing work sharing. Quote

Wowzer how different it is then being an NDP member 10 years ago when we would be saying the samethings and all the Liberals would shout for blood. Quote
