maplesyrup Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 StephenHarperSaid.ca THE COMING ELECTION is all about very different values and priorities for Canada – what we believe in, what we hold dear. Liberals believe we can be prosperous and still take care of each other. That’s why medicare is at the heart of the Liberal agenda and why we believe it’s so important to fix, for generations to come. Liberals refuse to accept the notion that our collective responsibility is a weakness; instead, we view it as the underlying strength of our country. But if you read the many things Mr.Harper has written and said over the years, you’ll see just how different his views are from ours and we believe from the majority of Canadians. Stephen Harper’s No. 1 priority is to reduce taxes until they are lower than those in the United States. No one argues it can’t be done. But at what cost? There is no way we can keep healthy the social and economic programs that are very much part of the Canadian identity and at same time slash taxes. It doesn’t add up – and it never will. This will be a vicious campaign. I'm glad I'm not a politician, as it must be rough getting to sleep some nights, knowing only too well all the nonsense you have spewed out all day long. Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. Anatole France
Bro Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Lower taxes always creates more business, thus more jobs, thus more people paying taxes instead of living off the taxes paid by working people, what doesn't compute ? Quote
