Topaz Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 Kevin Page came out with his report on the government spending and it not good. There's no accountability of were the money is going and they did say on CTV's Tom Clark show that they would put up a website to show Canadians were the money has gone. I think most of it is till sitting, if they have it! http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/091009/...us_transparency Quote

Topaz Posted October 11, 2009 Author Report Posted October 11, 2009 I really think that most Canadians would like to see where this money is going and the Tories should not break this promise like the others this is after all accountability! Quote
ToadBrother Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 I really think that most Canadians would like to see where this money is going and the Tories should not break this promise like the others this is after all accountability! The same complaints are being made about similar spending in other jurisdictions. There seems to be a universal truth about government spending; you can have it fast or you can have it responsibly, but you can't have both. Quote
OddSox Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 Yet the auditor general doesn't seem to think the sky is falling. Her investigations into the economic stimulus programs are obviously still in the early stages, but Fraser says she is already pleasantly encouraged."I certainly don't want to pre-judge the audits, but from what we have seen so far, the government and public service are also really concerned about this," Fraser says. "They have realized this is very risky, that they have to get it (the spending) out quickly, but they also have to plan intelligently how they are going to do this. http://www.ottawasun.com/comment/columnist...369471-sun.html Quote
waldo Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 But Page's office says there's been "a lack of disclosure regarding some of the larger and higher risk aspects of the stimulus package, in particular infrastructure spending." c'mon John Baird, Conservative Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities... show me tha money!
