Topaz Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 On the news, I couldn't believe how much garabge had collected over the short time, (compared to Windsor's strike) in Toronto. Is TO still sending their garbage down 401 to Michigan or is going some where else? 25 Tons of garage is a lot, don't they recycle? Quote

Why would you want to compare Toronto (and their strikes) to Windson. YOu do realize Toronto has 10 times plus the population of Windsor... Topaz Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 Why would you want to compare Toronto (and their strikes) to Windson. YOu do realize Toronto has 10 times plus the population of Windsor... Well, of course I do and I just wanted to know where TO garbage is going and you also have to know that TO has a problem with its garbage which I don't think its fixed yet, have you? Quote
daniel Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 Windsor's strike lasted 101days compared to Toronto's that took only 37days. No back-to-work legislation, no arbitration. Quote
tango Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Toronto sends 75 truckloads a day to Michigan, down from 142, and has a dump outside of London acquired a few years ago. Half of Toronto's population lives in multiple housing, and recycling in apt buildings is spotty at best. When I lived there, the super said they just didn't have the space. The day after it was picked up, the few containers were overflowing again. Most offices recycle paper, but beyond that it's spotty as well. Quote My Canada includes rights of Indigenous Peoples.
