jdobbin Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 I don't see him suing media outlets do you? He brought lawsuits against the liberal party and liberal Mps, I don't see the liberal party sueing the conservative party or individual mps. Where was the media lawsuit? Quote
jdobbin Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 (edited) you didn't answer my question why do you seem intent on tring to drag someone out in this forum into making a staement that would result in a lawsuit? Why be afraid to speak the truth that you have evidence for? Edited August 4, 2009 by jdobbin Quote

jdobbin Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 I'm done. I thought so. It is better to use innuendo than to actually name names. So many conspiracy theories within the Tory party. Quote

punked Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 I am saying anyone who wishes to name names of Liberals they think are responsible for the New Brunswick paper story, speak up now. This is from the newspaper story I sourced that you didn't read. "CTV — likely relying on Tory sources — has reported that editor Shawna Richer inserted the false assertion at the behest of publisher Jamie Irving, great-grandson of legendary industrialist K.C. Irving. Mr. Irving is said to have received the information from his friends among New Brunswick Liberals, who may have sought to blacken Mr. Harper’s name among Catholics. The day it published the apology, the paper fired Ms. Richer and Mr. Irving in what must have been a very painful moment for James D. Irving, Jamie’s father. The paper said that there "was no credible support" for the wafer-in-pocket allegation, and stated that that it was added "without the knowledge of the reporters." Quote

I did read. Based on Tory information saying it was Liberals. No Tory wants to name names. Quote

The funny thing is though CTV's source probably better then these Liberal sources I don't see CTV having to fire anyone over stating that and Irving has not denied it. Quote

punked Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 I don't see CTV repeating the statement either. To say it a few times about the richest family in Canada and not have anyone respond is enough to tell you something. Quote
ba1614 Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 What really concerns me is that a political party and professional journalists allegedly colluded to fabricate a lie and it was reported as fact. It's typical of the left to never accept responsibility for their actions, to continue to smear Harper is indicative of the immaturity that is rife in the Modern Liberal Party. I suspect the bloggers will find out who allegedly constructed the fabrication. I'm fed up with Harper and his socialist spending via buying shares in GM without public consult but this kind of smear tactic from behind the scenes has become the liberal war room MO. The Conservative ads are paid for by the party and they used Iggy's own words, they didn't fabricate an entire lie and then publish it as fact. Good post Moxie. Most people I speak with, and I, are frustrated with Harper, but the left doesn't see that. All they acknowledge is anything we might say that is less than flattering to the Liberal party, or Ignatieff personally, and label anyone who doesn't bow down and accept them without question a "right wing nutter". In many cases it doesn't even have to be "less than flattering", simply not agreeing with them gets them worked up and hurling insults. Don't get me wrong, the CPC has their share of Kool-Aid drinkers too, and aren't much better in respect to the political games they play. Therein lies the problem, there just isn't any difference between them, unfortunately. I, and it seems most of Canada, are ready for change, but there just aren't many alternatives, and from what I have seen, Ignatieff sure isn't a viable option for that change we so desperately want/need. For the record, I voted for, and supported the Liberals all my life, until the betrayal of the Chretien admin. They lost their identity, and a lot of us supporters, and haven't done much to right the ship since then. Quote

punked Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Actually, what has been hinted at was innuendo. Name names if you know who colluded. No it was reported about John Irving. Member of the Irving family who is worth 6 billion dollars and know what? No lawyers, No denning it, and he was fired for it from a paper his family owns. That should tell you something Dobbin but it wont and that is why the Liberals wont win they don't have to do anything to win seats, becuase of people like you so they never will fight for it. Quote

You are suggesting that he was fired for colluding with Liberals as the story suggests. And that story, according to the Chronicle, comes from Tory sources. You don't know or you would name names. As for the rest of your personalizing, I suggest you take a deep breath. Quote

I am suggesting he was fired for Lieing about the PM. I am also suggesting someone got fired over that wrong story wit made up or lieing sources. While in this other story no one was fired and no one has denied it. In the world of news if no one denies it, you can take it as true. Quote
jdobbin Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 In the world of news if no one denies it, you can take it as true. The Liberals have denied giving the story to the paper. Some have even started lawsuits about that. As I said, if you know which Liberal is responsible for the story, say their name. Quote

punked Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Actually, several people are saying it was the Liberals to blame. They just won't put a name to the accusations. I am going to go that far that the Liberals as an organization leaked this. However I do believe some Liberal in NB thought this was a story even if it was made up and they had to be big enough to call up John Irving and tell him. So it isn't some no body it is someone who is bigger. Quote
