Topaz Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 I think this year especially, these MP's should be working until the first of August and back day after labour day. This past year they have had more time off then I can remember and this country is in crisis. Agree or not? Quote
Smallc Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 That's not really fair though. They aren't only working when in the Commons. When they aren't there, they are in their constituency and I would certainly consider that to be work. Quote
Borg Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 I know three MP's personally - none of them have served more than two terms. Although I am not happy to admit it one is a frigging lib - he knows my opinion of the party despite the fact I can call him a friend. They all spend tremendous amounts of their "holiday" time working within their respective communities. I would say they might be "off" if you only believe they are busy when parliament is in session - however I actually believe all of them work their asses off and they make a lot more personal sacrifice than many others would ever be willing to do. If you want to simply call it time off I will stand and say they are nearly always working. If you want to change the drift of your comment and simply say that parliament should be in session for a longer period of time - well, I think I would agree with that. Borg Quote

Hmmm .... might be an improvement Borg Quote
