It seems that the Auditor General has found discrepancy between the 2008 financial accounting of precious metals and the physical stockpile at the plant, Sussex Drive Ottawa. Now I wonder who in Ottawa really needs that much money????

Hmmm...apparently I hear the Liberal Party is now flush with money.

Coincidence?

Now Dancer, between the two, who REALLY needs the money? The Tories are Billions and billions in debt and Harper said he'll have it paid off in 5 years. Now given what we have seen of this government since 2006, I say the Tories NEED it more and lets hope that there's CPP for you when you are 65 and the country doesn't go broke!

Topaz, do you think maybe the Tories transferred the gold to a numbered offshore account and then, they'll cash in the gold and put it in general revenue to pay off the deficit? Wickedly brilliant plan! :P

You'll still get CPP but if you don't really need it, the Feds will tax it back.

Well...could it be the Tories from Quebec, politicans from there have problems with money. No, I don't think the Tories did that...they aren't that smart!

The Conservative Party has no debt, they have a lot more money than the other parties.

Ok, seriously though, the Liberals didn't take it, or the tories...or the NDP...so who? And don't say the Bloc.

Maybe the Tories thought the gold belonged to them.

The mint's Ottawa headquarters houses one of the world's leading gold and silver refineries, turning out almost 2.8 million Troy ounces of refined gold in 2007.
