Leafless Posted June 3, 2009 Author Report Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) Our differences in Canada outstrip our similarities by a country mile. It takes far more than sharing a common mother tongue to form a cultural consensus. Otherwise we’d all be flying old glory about now. In reality we ARE flying 'old glory'. Our culture is primarily American. It would not be hard to imagine what our culture would be without the U.S. Custom made seal skin coats, beaver hats, bear skin rugs, dancing around camp fires making weird animal noises, fish fries over the open camp fire, enjoying the odd cup of moonshine, that is if we could find the materials to make a crude still, pony express etc. etc. Edited June 3, 2009 by Leafless Quote
M.Dancer Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 You admitted 'IT IS' linguistically different. Thank you. If that's what you think I said you are even denser than I thought possible. I imagine you score just above pylon level... This should be moved to the creationist thread...behold, Leafless, the semi sapient living brick Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us

Bryan Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 (edited) Leafless, I don't understand what the problem is. Ignatieff is in opposition, with his party having recently been handed it's biggest defeat ever, and he is not even getting the polling numbers that his predecessor was able to get.. Did you think he would not try to drum up support from wherever he could get it? His best glimmer of hope so far is in Quebec, of course he's going to try to secure that vote before the Bloc pulls it out from under him. Edited June 4, 2009 by Bryan Quote

I think creating rivalry (language against language) is NOT in the interest of most Canadians and is anti-Canadian Maybe Mr.Ignatieff should just advocate Quebec separate and be done with it.
