The recent comment by the Liberal politician in the Kootenays strengthens my point that most right-wing politicians are outright dumb when it comes to aboriginal issues. The guy doesn't have a clue about taxation so perhaps Campbell should tell him to keep his yap shut

Essentially Bill Bennet ran an add that said, vote for me, I am a white guy like you, I pay taxes, and I am not an Indian who doesn't. Essentially the NDP candidate who was unlikely to defeat him is an Aboriginal.

Anyways the add is going over like a lead balloon. Good for his base.... but this could turn into a bust.

It does sound kinda dumb! If you're likely to win anyway why say such a rude thing? Where's the gain in being insulting?

I know that not every aboriginal band takes the same stand on politics but I hear so much about how they are all totally sovereign countries from the Six Nations Reserve here locally that I don't understand how an aboriginal could run for office in what he has defined as a foreign country. Certainly as a non-native I could never accept an MP or MPP from Six Nations as a representative for ALL of us!

Then again, as I said, some may consider themselves part of Canada and some may not. Sounds like the aboriginals are a bit more rational in BC.

Prime example of dumbness - was Bush - eg..."Them Syrians had better stop doing that shit" - that's dumb - or back in the old days when that lunitic Sheila Copps and her buddy the Prime Minsiter would literally grab an apponent by the throat - that was really dumb...Or when American film companies back in the late 80s were bringing in billions into Canada - and dumb Shelia....started to shake them down for money - and they left taking tons of cash with them - that was real dumb. Or when an unnamed Liberal politican begins to think of herself as a privledged godess and abuses servants destroying her crediblity perminently - that is real dumb when a public servant harms servants... stupid!
