August1991 Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) This movie made me want to see the Bluray version of Barry Lyndon. Ralph Fiennes understood, and made clear, that this story is not about a Duchess. I pity screenwriters/producers who are forced to use subtitles for a short third act explaining what happens to their main character. Edited February 5, 2009 by August1991 Quote
RB Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 enough of british overworked themes a time when men are the makers of laws, rules, and women by golly, had better bear some sons. I saw this film on a plane only today, it is overworked as much as the The Other Boleyn Girl Quote
acidburn Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 i hear that this movie is supposed to be good. i also saw a book version at the store. to be reccomended? Quote

It could have very well been a parallel of the late Diana and Charles. But with lots of pregnant interludes, many children, including bastards, lesbianism, silent male, rape, mistresses and other lovers, has what the power of celebrity can do If you are in the mood for a chick flick - go for it.
