He just called it as he saw it....first the university was blown to smitherines..then ambulances are fired upon - and UN relief is blocked - need I say more? I will tell you one thing - there are many in the leftist Jewish community in Toronto who agree with Sid...you forget - you assume that the Jews are just one solid united bunch....they are not - there are thousands in Toronto who dispise the super rightist crimminals that control Israel. OKAY ---- I admit - I have attended an exclusive birthday party for a famous Troskite Jew - there was a great bunch of old commies there - former editors for the biggest leftist publications in the world - and the Jews in attendence don't like what is going on in Israel....The big boss - had not spoken to his own brother in years.......all because...one Jew disagrees with the other. Charles and I can't possibly verify ownership of every single website included in the discussions on these forums, so there is no specific rule(s) relating to the posting of URLs. However, when a poster repeatedly posts URLs to a specific site, whether related to overall discussions or not, Charles and I will discuss whether it falls into "Advertising" and or "Spam" categories - both of which are against the rules of these forums.However, you're free to include a link to your website/weblog in your signature. I really don't envy you guys your job...I used to moderate on a forum years ago, and it was an unbelievable pain in the ass to keep advertising proliferators off the boards. It got to the point where it was "come for the conversation, stay for the commercials" so the board got shut down. Good job keeping track of that sort of thing here. Quote

Nice to know there's at least the potential for debate...quite often the media does portray the Jewish people as being one-hundred percent united in their foreign policy (and they do include Jews not living in Israel in that estimation). I don't really want to get into a debate about whether or not Sid Ryan said the right or wrong things -- but the fact that people are at least thinking about different angles on the issue is, I think, very positive and probably a lot more useful to the cause of somehow finding a solution to the current conflict. CUPE Ontario has since replaced that page (and perhaps other pages) from its website after CUPE's National President rebuked Sid Ryan for his proposal to ban Israeli academics. Not once does the new page mention Sid Ryan's name. Ryan now wants us to believe any controversial statements were corrected a week ago. On Tuesday he claimed he and Moist are "on the same page" and that he had changed his proposal more than a week ago, focusing on Israeli institutions rather than individuals. But the Google cache of the offensive resolution aimed at individuals, with Sid Ryan's name all over it, is dated January 10.And the meta data on the new page - the one that targets institutions instead of individuals, and that makes no mention of Sid Ryan - marks the page as having been created on January 13, the same day Moist went public with his criticism of Ryan. It tells me Ryan caved in a big way. Sid Ryan is a leader within the labour movement in Canada. Sid Ryan is a progressive leader, a socialist leader. Many socialist members are here at MLW, he is your leader, be proud of him , he speaks for you. People across the country are calling for action to be taken against Sid Ryan for his racist marks against Israel. There is no doubt that someone needs to step in and remove him from his post.
