Moderate Centrist Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 I came across the following quote and it sums up my thoughts on Harper as well, "University of Calgary political scientist David Taras: "If Stephen Harper were a colour, he would be grey. He seems perpetually burdened. There is nothing light or whimsical about him. In some ways, he is the oldest young man in Canada." source:http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/election_insults/This is about as an accurate assesment of Stephen Harper as you're going to get. Now this isn't an attack on conservatism or on a western candidate. It's a senitment many people across the country feel when watching this guy - he's dry as a bone. As I've stated many times before the whole "new" conservative party concept is flawed. Having Harper lead the pack is sure keep them in opposition for a long long time. Quote
August1991 Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 William Davis was an extremely successful Tory premier of Ontario; he was one of a long line of successful Tory premiers. Davis' slogan? "Bland works." What's wrong with grey? Think of Mackenzie King. (In fact, I'm a little worried that is whom Harper will resemble. Does Harper support term limits?) Quote
