Making it law for people to serve in the CF and potentially die for the country is highly unconstitutional.. It is a severe encroachment of individual rights and freedoms (and if you forgot, we have that over here.. which by the way states that all citizens shall be exempt from discrimination).

This concept is like "forced patriotism".

Here is a better idea.. How about we run our forces on a voluntary basis.. If we use this method, the people who really want to show their loyalty and perhaps die for the country can go with honour.

I am obligated to hope that only a very very very select bunch of Canadians believe that being born in the country makes you "more Canadian" or being born outside the country makes you "less Canadian"..

That is until Mr.Canada comes up with a sound and logical argument to support this ridiculous assumption.. Unless of course, you think that being sent to Canada "by god" is a very logical statement... and everybody else who was not sent to Canada by this god was out of his grace and was stuck somewhere else..

So how would law be fine tuned and passed? In committee? Or would the house have the final say thus once it passes a series of votes it's made into law?
