bush_cheney2004 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 What is being hailed as "Bretton Woods II" will be held on 11/15 in Washinton D.C. The usual G-7 suspects will be joined by the next echelon of industrialized nations for a total of twenty. Curiously, Spain is not invited, despite being a top 20 economy. Prime Minister Harper has set only modest expectations, while President Bush is seeking a legacy feather as lame duck. President Elect Obama will not attend, but will be saddled with any agreements (not very likely), and any followup agenda. If Keynes and Bretton Woods I led to the current financial circumstance, maybe it is best that nothing happen at all. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
