Smallc Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 There are probably more people voting for the Marxist Leninst party than Anglos voting for Duceppe. That may very well be, but they still exist. In Quebec, it should also be noted that people like to vote for the home team. It says Quebec, they vote for it. Quote
Argus Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) Interestingly, though, the Conservatives are not doing all that well in the Maritimes nowadays, so I'm guessing that the Conservative's western-style conservativism has worn thin. I'm wondering how many Progressive Canadian candidates will be running in the Maritimes, if any...? The Conservatives have never done that well in the Maritimes. A lot of Martimers vote for the party they think will give them the most money, and the tories are not seen as being as generous with the public till as the Liberals. Nice generalization about Maritmers. I have lived here all my life and I have yet to find anyone who uses that as a criteria for voting. Quote

Maybe you're just not looking. Quote "A liberal is someone who claims to be open to all points of view — and then is surprised and offended to find there are other points of view.” William F Buckley

Maybe, just maybe you don't have a clue about the Maritimes. But then again what do I know? I'm just a poor, stupid Maritimer who has lived off the government all his life bacause of my defeatist attitude. How could I possibly know anything when I compare myself to someone who seems to live on this board and has "been up here" a few times? Quote
