Every two weeks I receive 1 piece of literature from the Federal Government.

These Mailings have NO information and is nothing but using the government resources to influence their electoral prospects. I have no problem receiving these flyers from the CPC. However, the TAXPAYER is paying to receive these pieces of XXXXXXXX PROPOGANDA and since I received 3 on TUESDAY and 2 MORE today, after close to a year of this nonsense I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!@!

I am sure everyone knows the xxxxxxxx crap that is on these flyers.

Vote for Check one HARPER, LAYTON, DION or MAY with an arrow pointing to Harper.

Like I said, there isn't anything on these mailouts, they are pure propoganda bull.

If you wanted to send something on the governments behalf, BEHAVE like a government and not a POLITICAL PARTY.

Now I see a trend, that people in my area have noticed the increased number of these flyers, sent from Western MPs all with the same format.

I have TWO WORDS for the CPC in this regards.

Every two weeks I receive 1 piece of literature from the Federal Government.

I've been getting one every couple of days lately. Seriously.

And they have that fake ballot on it which I'm not sure if even allowed with these type of mailers. As far as I can remember, they are supposed to be informational but these look like campaign literature which is now allowed.

I don't remember Liberals mailing out near the amount of flyers the Tories and certainly not having MPs from other provinces mailing me their flyers. This is abuse of the system as far as I'm concerned an no party should be allowed to it.

This is not unique to the party in government. They are sent out by all MPs.

Four times a year an MP can send out a house holder which every household in the riding will receive one. These tend to be a few pages long and cover more information.

The other mail outs you may receive are 10%ers. Everyday of the year, every MP is able to send out a short mail out postcard that to approx 10% of a riding. It does not have to be their riding. The rules state that 50% of the content has to change on each 10%er. Thus the short very political surveys mixed in with single message points.

All MPs have access to this. My Liberal MP regularly sends out very poorly written communications that are over the top partisan. As they say, don't hate the players, hate the game.

I am a Conservative and I wish all parties would use these communication tools to inform and not in a crass political messaging spam junk mail kind of way.

I looked it over and shred it!!

That must have felt good.

My M.P. is Mauril Belanger (Ottawa-Vanier). Ever since the Liberals lost the elections, I have not received one item from him. I used to get about one a month. I understand that Mauril is busy working on Canada's 150th anniversary celebrations to take place in 2017. As a Conservative party member, I receive one item of mail per month from the party which I discard after I read it. I don't have a shredder so I remove the personal info and tear it up. The rest goes in the paper recycling bin.

Anyone seriously annoyed by mailings from political parties or MPs should raise hell with them. It's no good complaining here and will not abate the annoyance. I read somewhere that MPs are allowed to use government resources for these mailings but they must pay back the expenses.

I don't have a problem with government sending out info to Canadians on the services provided to them especially for new or amended programs.

Yup, that is what has finally got my attention.

please clarify the bolded quote.

It is abuse.

Of course, the intent of my original post was to

"REPORT ABUSE"  :P;)

If you get the irony.

Save em all up, return the whole batch to the sender. With your sentiments written on them!

I have 37 saved up right now. The majority from Rob Anders which stopped coming about 3 months ago, and then all the others started coming in.

I wouldn't bother sending them back. I will be handing them to the Local Candidate at the Next election. He will explain the value of these to the tax payer in a public setting. I should have 70 or 80 by the time of the election. The coffee shops talk doesn't have anyone saying, yeah I like these.

I figure the numbers I get, will have been delivered to every household.

Liberal use of the term "content" if you ask me. It is a scam. These should be paid for by the CPC, not the tax payer.

Your LPC MP doesn't send me partisan flyers. And do you receive on every 2, 3 and 5 days, and in multiples.

I am a Conservative and I wish all parties would use these communication tools to inform and not in a crass political messaging spam junk mail kind of way.

I agree, call your LPC MP to complain. IF not that, then call the people whom you support and say, put a lid on it.

You aren't the first Conservative to have that opinion. I spoke with some "reform era" pals of mine a week back to say I thought this to be a bit much, and they also didn't like what was being done, but believed it was effective and could give the CPC the edge.

Then I received 5 flyers in a four day week.

Wouldn't that be great. That would be "New" government.

You are right about not whining on the message boards and the action that should be taken. I agree with you completely.

I just wanted to get the issue out there, when I realized I wasn't alone on this.

please clarify the bolded quote.

The flyers I am getting have a fake ballot on them as ask the recipient to make a choice for voting. That is campaign literature rather than information. I think it would be seen as such by most people. It is also supposed to be forbidden under the rules set up for these flyers.

So you might have a problem with a flyer that has a ballot on it and asks you to vote for their party?

YUP!

Now, it also appears that all parties have gotten involved in this scheme to some degree. The way that they are using these 10%ers is to send them to "targeted" riding. Thus one targeted by the LPC and held by the CPC/BQ/NDP will receive Flyers.

The CPC are targeting ridings held by the LPC/NDP/BQ

and the NDP are targeting ridings held by the CPC/LPC/BQ

ALL ON OUR DIME!!!

This isn't right. I have seen supporters here say that this is wrong. I notice blogs that are CPC, LPC and NDP all addressing the same problem.

My guess, is many bloggers are like myself, don't realize how deep the abuse gets. That it just isn't in their riding. While I think what is happening in my riding is extreme, getting 37 pieces of CPC literature, there are other people in other ridings receiving similar crap from other parties.

Get on the horn, and blow. Unfortuneately, some of the better parts of Reform are gone, and this would be something they would not accept. But now the Reformers are meek CPC MPs who toe the line of Mr. Harper and his propoganda team.

Now, after researching this, and seeing all the parties that are involved, it is going to take alot more to get change.

Who is on "our side" in correcting this?

Flyer Gate is gathering steam

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...PStory/National

One of several controversial Conservative pamphlets being sent at taxpayer expense begins with the statement, "Canadians work hard and play by the rules" - next to an image of an abandoned syringe lying in a playground.

But Opposition MPs say it is the Conservatives who appear to be breaking the rules when it comes to the mass mailings, using them for overtly partisan attacks.

I remember when the term conservative meant the rich that had all the money and controlled all buisness - and the liberals were common henchmen while the lefty NDP were the poor people who delivered the mail - what has changed? Nothing! Except the notion that conservatives no longer practice conservatism. They now practice entitlism. BUT the old boys are aging and the great hope is the fact that their heirs will NOT carry on the tradition of hording...because the conservative plan of de-masculating the populace with liberal henchmen has back fired and THEIR children are the victims of the plot also - they forgot that their sons and grandsons would get *aggotized with the mass...simply put - once the old guys are gone - all that is left are bitter sexless woman and girly men - rich ones - with out the killer instinct...looks good on the so called conservatives - who are really just old Nazi neo cons anyway - Thank God there is an end in sight for this visionless plan that was about money and power ..without purpose - YAH got tah have a dream guys - a vision...the blind have lead us to a bridge that is not worth crossing.
